Welcome to NSUC

Background

Founded in 1994 and formerly known as the Doctors co-operative of North Staffordshire, the co-operative was established to support local GP's discharge their 24 hour patient's responsibility during the out of hours period.

Following the introduction of the new GMC (GP) contract the responsibility for the provision of Out of Hours Service transferred to the four North Staffordshire Primary Care Trusts, who formally commissioned North Staffs Urgent Care (NSUC) as their Out of Hours Provider of choice.

NSUC is now an independent "not for profit" organisation, which provides urgent primary care - that is, care that would normally be provided by your GP surgery and which cannot safely wait until the surgery is next open.

It is important to note: There are no doctors or nurses on the premises during normal office hours. NSUC is an appointment based service, we do not see "walk-in" patients. To make an appointment please contact us on the number below.
